NANJING, CHINA -- Inventec Appliances has completed an expansion which doubled handset production capacity at its factory here.
The ODM can now produce up to 86 million units a year, DigiTimes reported today, citing the company.
The expansion added 89,244 sq. m (960,000 sq. ft.) to the campus at a cost of $50 million. Volume production is expected to start in March 2016.
Invectec Appliances reportedly builds the majority of Xiaomi's smartphones, and also produces telecommunication modules for M2M and IoT applications.
