SAN JOSE — The 90-day moving average orders among North American semiconductor equipment manufacturers fell 2.8% from a year ago in December, SEMI said today.
The group posted $1.34 billion in worldwide orders in December on a three-month average basis, up 8.6% from the revised November 2015 level.
The book-to-bill ratio was 0.99, up 30 basis points sequentially. A book-to-bill of 0.99 means that $99 worth of orders were received for every $100 of product billed for the month.
The 90-day average worldwide billings was $1.35 billion, up 4.9% from the final November figure and down 3.2% from a year ago.
The SEMI book-to-bill is a ratio of three-month moving averages of worldwide bookings and billings for North American-based semiconductor equipment manufacturers.
