BANNOCKBURN, IL – IPC released its Global Policy Framework for 2016, which outlines the association’s top public policy priorities to promote a strong US manufacturing economy. The framework targets three broad areas: driving technological innovation and advanced manufacturing; promoting broad-based economic growth and a 21st Century workforce, and advocating for cost-effective, science-based regulation.

Specific issues include public-private partnerships for manufacturing innovation, tax policy, STEM education and training, and environmental health and safety policy, the trade group added.

IPC also announced its US public policy advocacy event will take place Apr. 18-20 in Washington. The annual event gives electronics industry executives the opportunity to interact with policymakers on policy issues.

“IPC places a high priority on advocacy because government policies have a major impact on our industry,” said John Hasselmann, IPC vice president of government relations. “Government officials want to hear from our members about the real-world impact of the policies they consider.”
