Gov't Incentives Attract Further Samsung Investment

HANOI -- Samsung Electronics will invest $300 million in a new research and development project here in exchange for free rent.
Vietnam's prime minister said the electronics company will get 50 years of free rent in exchange for extending its investment in the country.
Last year, the Vietnam government greenlighted a Samsung proposal to invest some $2 billion in a handset facility.
