BALVE, GERMANY -- Balver Zinn and Spectro Analytical Instruments have jointly developed an application for tin-solder bath analysis that is said to eliminate certain sampling steps.
“Balver Zinn drew on its decades of experience as an international solder supplier to develop this joint application, which greatly benefits the customer,” said Ingo Lomp, lab manager for Balver Zinn. “Costly sampling arrangements, such as planning or milling, are no longer necessary because of a sample mould that has been developed specifically for electronics solder. Analysis results can be quickly interpreted and saved.”
The joint application utilizes Spectro's Spectrocheck metal analyzer that incorporates charge-coupled device technology. The analyzer is specially configured for electronics manufacturing, providing exacting process control and documentation.
Balver Zinn is the parent company of the Cobar line of solder materials. Spectro is part of Ametek's Materials Analysis Division.
