KELSO, SCOTLAND -- Plexus will invest $500,000 toward a new building to house component testing equipment for its manufacturing facility here.
The EMS company plans to build a dedicated environmental stress screening facility "with a focus on meeting thermal, vibration and HALT / HASS (highly accelerated stress screening / highly accelerated life testing) requirements," according to published reports.
The new service should open in September.
Plexus employs 400 workers at the site, which builds electronics assemblies for defense, security, aerospace, and oil and gas applications. The company did not indicate whether it would hire additional workers for the new service.
