WASHINGTON, DC – The US government has expanded sanctions against Russia, targeting the electronics sector, with 11 additional Russian firms added to the list of those not allowed to do business with the US.
The move reportedly comes as a result of Moscow’s actions in Crimea and Ukraine.
The sanctions list now totals 81 companies under 86 names, seven in Crimea. The latest companies added to the list include JSC Angstrem, Giovan, JSC FEA Radioexport, JSC, NPC Granat, and Technopole.
The list is maintained by the US Federal Register.
The sanctions impose a strict American export control regime. According to the Bureau of Industry and Security, the reason for the sanctions is to introduce "license requirement for exports, re-exports, or transfers (in country) of all items subject to the Export Administration Regulations to this blocked entity."
