SAN JOSE — The 90-day moving average orders at North America-based semiconductor equipment manufacturers rose 5% year-over-year in August.
Manufacturers reported $1.75 billion in orders worldwide in August, SEMI said. Bookings were down 2.3% from the revised July level of $1.8 billion.
The three-month average worldwide billings were $1.71 billion, even with the revised July figure and up 8.4% from a year ago.
The book-to-bill ratio of 1.03, indicating a rising market. A book-to-bill of 1.03 means that $103 worth of orders were received for every $100 of product billed for the month.
