ST. PETERSBURG, FL – Jabil has begun a lay off about 400 staff members globally, including nearly 100 at its headquarters here.
The EMS/ODM employs about 3,000 workers in St. Petersburg and 180,000 worldwide.
“Even though this represents a very small percentage of Jabil's 180,000 global workforce, we do not take this decision lightly, nor underestimate the impact to these individuals," corporate spokeswoman Beth Walters said in a statement. "Jabil is providing outplacement and counseling services to our exiting workforce to assist them in transitioning as quickly and successfully as possible."
Jabil has $20 billion in annual revenues and more than 100 manufacturing facilities in over two dozen countries.
