TAIPEI – Kinpo Electronics plans to invest $30 million in its fourth plant in the Philippines, and is expected to double its workforce to 15,000 workers there, according to published reports.

Kinpo plans to produce electronics parts it supplies to branded mobile phone manufacturers, including Xiaomi.

The firm is reportedly eyeing 30 hectares (300,000 m2) in the southern region of the Philippines.

The firm is expected to invest in its three existing plants there as well.

CalComp Electronics is a Kinpo subsidiary.
