TARM, DENMARK – Electronics manufacturer GPV reported revenues for the first half of 2017 increased 28% year-over-year to EUR 73.5 million ($88.2 million).
For the first time, the firm expects to surpass the one billion mark for the current financial year. The company says orders from existing and new customers have been a positive surprise. Subsequently, GPV has invested in capacity extensions in both Denmark and Thailand.
Most recently, GPV installed two new SMT production lines and plans to add four more SMT lines. GPV’s Bangkok plant has increased staff from 900 to more than 1,000 and will receive three new lines, and GPV plans to install a new line for prototypes Aars, Denmark, where staff has increased from 60 employees to more than 200.
These new investments amount to about EUR 13.4 million, the firm says.
