SUNGUVAR CHATHRAM, TAMIL NADU, INDIA -- The Tamil Nadu government has issued a “no objection certificate” to a Foxconn subsidiary, paving the way for the company to acquire and build on land in a special economic zone here.
Foxconn already holds about 159 acres locally, reports say, where it plans to produce mobile phones for the India market.
The latest proposal calls for an additional 40 acres to be made available to Foxconn, which uses the name Rising Star Mobiles to build phones for other OEMs.
