SCHAUMBURG, IL -- Sparton today announced it has cleared a key hurdle to its pending acquisition by a major private equity group as the mandatory antitrust waiting period has expired.
Sparton’s pending acquisition expired on Jan. 22 without a request for additional information by the Federal Trade Commission or the Department of Justice.
The expiration of the waiting period under the Hart-Scott-Rodino Act satisfies one of the conditions to the closing of the acquisition, which remains subject to other customary closing conditions.
In December, the ODM/EMS announced a definitive agreement to be acquired by Cerberus Capital Management. The transaction is expected to close this quarter.
