MORRISVILLE, NC — The loss of its only customer will force AsteelFlash to close its plant here by early May, a decision that will cost more than 200 workers their jobs.

The company's plans were made public in according to a filing with the North Carolina Department of Commerce and reported by North Carolina Business News Wire.

According to the report, employees will be given two months bonus pay to stick around under the factory's planned closing on May 6. AsteelFlash said a total of 204 workers would be affected by the decision.

Asteelflash acquired the 85,000 sq. ft. plant from Catalyst Manufacturing in January 2012.

The plant has a single customer, which is ending its outsourcing contract with AsteelFlash, according to Albert Yanez, executive vice president and president of Americas.
