MADISON, WI – Governor Tony Evers is considering renegotiating Wisconsin’s agreement with Foxconn, according to reports. Evers says the deal may need to be downsized.
Evers believes it implausible Foxconn will create the 13,000 jobs it promised to President Trump and former Governor Scott Walker.
Foxconn reportedly missed its 2018 hiring targets and didn't qualify for state tax credits.
Foxconn has also said the Racine County manufacturing facility will be smaller than originally suggested, and the firm has rolled back its earlier proposal to use the site for R&D.
Evers has asked the Department of Natural Resources to review Foxconn’s permits.
Foxconn’s Wisconsin development projects also include a proposed North American HQ in Milwaukee and facilities in Green Bay, Eau Claire, and Madison.
