MADISON, WI – In a letter, Wisconsin Gov. Tony Evers said Foxconn approached the state about renegotiating its contract. It was previously reported the governor was the one who wanted to alter terms.

Evers stated Foxconn executive Louis Woo mentioned wanting to change the contract during a March meeting, according to reports.

The head of Wisconsin's economic development agency supports the state's current contract with Foxconn, while Evers says it's being renegotiated. Evers reportedly believes Foxconn won’t employ 13,000 staff there, as originally planned.

Under current terms, Foxconn would be awarded more than $4 billion in tax credits for a display screen manufacturing factory.
