TAIWAN – Foxconn and Fiat Chrysler are joining to make electric vehicles for the Chinese market, according to reports.
Foxconn will manage the electronics and software, with FCA manufacturing the cars.
The firms have not signed a contract yet, but talks have reportedly been ongoing for months.
China is the largest market for electric vehicles globally, with sales increasing 6% last year compared to 2018.
Foxconn chairman Young Liu said he thinks electric vehicles could eventually account for 10% of the firm’s sales.
