NEW DELHI – India’s scrutiny of imports from China has disrupted operations at Foxconn plants there, according to reports. Other firms are facing delays as well, as tensions between India and China escalate.

Indian ports have delayed shipments from China, seeking additional clearances.

Apple and Dell are fighting to receive shipments, while hundreds of employees at two Foxconn plants were unable to work this week because of delayed shipments, say reports.

More than 150 Foxconn shipments sat at the port of Chennai. Some are slowly being cleared. The number of parts involved is unknown. Dell also had about 130 shipments stuck at Indian ports this week.

China’s Commerce Ministry said it hoped India would correct these actions against Chinese companies immediately.
