MUNICH – Katek Group reported sales growth of 40% for the first eight months of 2020.

The electronics manufacturer expects to continue this pace for the rest of the year.

Growth is substantially tied to acquisitions of the previous quarters, while organic growth is currently at more than 5%.

“We continue to gain market share, even though the electronics industry is shrinking this year due to the pandemic,” said Rainer Koppitz, CEO. “The main growth drivers were medical technology, the solar/energy sector, electromobility and the embedded systems business.”

Katek expects growth in 2021, despite the unpredictable economic situation.

Katek, the parent company of PrimePulse, is expanding its prototype services at its Beflex subsidiary and will open a fourth prototyping center in Hamburg. The group also plans to open a logistics building in Grassau, Germany, which will offer almost 6,000 sq. m. of space. The Saedinenie, Germany, location will also be expanded. Katek plans to expand capacity in EMS, box-build and cable production.

PCB West Virtual 2020 has more than 125 hours’ worth of technical sessions on printed circuit design and manufacturing available through Oct. 12.  pcbwest.com
