TAIPEI – Compal Electronics and Cisco Systems have partnered to work in the 5G AIoT market and provide integrated network solutions, according to reports.

The companies plan to combine Cisco's 5G networking products with Compal's abilities to manufacture devices and equipment for consumer and enterprise markets to provide 5G end-to-end solutions.

Compal can offer volume-production capability for terminal equipment and 5G NR RAN devices alongside Cisco's networking technology.

Compal aims to provide 5G integrated solutions covering core networks, small base stations, mobile edge computing and AIoT devices, with a focus on smart plants, smart healthcare, smart agriculture, smart living and video/audio entertainment.

Compal will seek additional partners to offer 5G smart application services for clients in Taiwan and elsewhere. The first target markets are expected to be the US and Japan.
