WASHINGTON – The US has launched a patent infringement investigation against Luxshare Precision Industry over possible import violations.

The company said it was informed of two notices issued by the United States International Trade Commission (USITC) regarding a Section 337 investigation filed against it by Amphenol alleging IP infringement.

Amphenol filed a complaint against Luxshare and its subsidiaries in December, alleging certain electric components imported into the US from Luxshare infringe on Amphenol's patents for connector cables.

Luxshare said it would "follow procedure" on the investigation. The company does not expect the case will have a material impact on its current operations and production.

Luxshare has gained prominence with its acquisition of ODM plants in China and its growing position as a supplier to Apple.
