BANGALURU, INDIA – Wistron is restarting operations at its factory here after worker-led vandalism forced a shutdown in late 2020.

The factory will gradually ramp production over the next few weeks, but will remain on probation with Apple, its primary customer.

On Dec. 12, contract workers destroyed millions of dollars of property and equipment over unpaid bonuses they said were promised by Wistron.

In response, Apple suspended production while it conducted an audit of the site’s processes and systems. New training protocols have been established in the wake of the outburst, Apple said.

"As Wistron begins the process of hiring team members and restarting their operations, everyone at the facility will undergo a new training program to ensure they understand their rights and how they can raise any concerns," Apple said.
