MARION, MA -- Polaris Contract Manufacturing, Lockheed Martin's contract electronics manufacturing arm, will close its site here as part of a corporate relocation.

The Marion site builds electronics assemblies for the US Navy’s undersea weapons programs.

Lockheed Martin plans to move the jobs to other company locations, and most workers will be offered new positions.

Polaris is a wholly-owned subsidiary of Lockheed Martin. L-M acquired Polaris, then named Sippican Ocean Systems, in 2004.
