TAIPEI -- Foxconn today said second-quarter revenue will increase 15% from a year ago, boosted by continued demand for personal computers and peripherals and new iPhones.

“Smartphone demand remains strong. [W]e will see relatively strong growth in the second quarter,” said Liu Young-way, chairman, Foxconn.

The company also warned that component and raw materials supplies are getting tighter but have had “limited" impact on the company to date.

Apple, Foxconn's largest customer, is known to purchase and hold six months' worth of inventory to ensure parts are available for its products. The willingness to take the risk and appropriate huge amounts of cash toward inventory could mitigate the issues other OEMs and their contract manufacturers are currently experiencing.
