PATHUMTHANI, THAILAND – SVI reported second quarter consolidated sales of THB 3.8 billion (US$122.6 million), down 8.2% year-over-year and up 10.7% sequentially.
The decrease was mainly due to the material shortages throughout the industry, while demand from customers continued to be strong. Communication and Network, Industrial Control, Automotive & Public Transportation and Micro-Electronics were key sectors contributing to sales.
Consolidated net income was THB 165 million ($5.3 million), up 51.4% year-over-year. Net income increased by $400,000 compared to the prior quarter. Consolidated operating profit excluding other income was THB 151 million ($4.8 million), down 19.7% compared to the second quarter last year.
Consolidated sales for the first half of 2021 were $237.3 million, an increase of 1.2% compared to the same period in 2020. Demand from optical electronics, communication and network and automotive continued to be resilient.
