BANNOCKBURN, IL — Total North American EMS shipments in February were down 9.7% compared to the same month last year and 0.3% sequentially. EMS orders for the month fell 23.8% year-over-year and 14.8% sequentially.

The book-to-bill ratio was 1.52, compared to 1.58 in January. A ratio of more than one suggests current demand is ahead of supply, which is a positive indicator for sales growth over the next three to twelve months.

“EMS orders and shipments both fell in February. However, the EMS book-to-bill remains elevated, suggesting supply chains are tight and backlogs remain high,” said Shawn DuBravac, IPC’s chief economist. “The coming months will give us greater clarity into the impact the Russia-Ukraine conflict is having on the North American EMS market.”
