BANNOCKBURN, IL – Total North American EMS shipments in April were up 4.3% compared to the same month last year and down 10.7% sequentially.
Orders in April fell 7.2% year-over-year and 2.4% from the previous month.
The book-to-bill ratio was 1.36, down from 1.40 in March. A ratio of more than one suggests current demand is ahead of supply, which is a positive indicator for sales growth over the next three to twelve months.
“EMS shipments continue to be constrained by supply chain disruptions and have been unable to keep pace with orders,” said Shawn DuBravac, IPC’s chief economist. “Shipments are 2.7% below last year's pace through the first four months of the year, while bookings are up 9.7% over the same time horizon.”
