BENGALURU, INDIA – Wistron has signed a non-binding agreement to invest Rs15 billion ($180.7 million) in the Indian state of Karnataka to set up a laptop manufacturing unit.

The proposed plant is expected to create around 3,000 jobs and also produce electric vehicle-related parts, with production of laptops at the plant planned to begin in January of 2026, according to a statement from the Karnataka government.
