CHENNAI, INDIA – Syrma SGS Technology is targeting $1 billion in revenue by 2027 and is evaluating manufacturing opportunities for semiconductors and PCBs, according to a company official.
In an interview with Mint, managing director Jasbir Singh Gujral said the company's revenue will grow by around 35% to 40% next year, and could reach $1 billion in the next few years.
The company has a presence in high-volume segments such as consumer electronics and IT, as well as low-volume, high-margin segments such as healthcare, industrial and RFID, and could be looking to expand into new areas, Gujral said.
"We are evaluating it, but we are very conscious of what it involves," he said. "Just because the government or the government plus the state government is giving us 75% subsidy, we don't want to jump into it. And the critical – and the very critical part we hear – is credibility of the ODM (original design manufacturer) or joint venture partner."
