JOHOR, MALAYSIA – V.S. Industry Berhad reported a decline in revenue and profitability for the quarter ended April 30, as the electronics manufacturer faced softer customer demand and tighter margins.
For the quarter, the EMS company posted revenue of approximately $193 million, down from $214 million a year earlier. Pretax profit dropped to $7.5 million, compared to $15.9 million in the same quarter last year. Net profit for the period came in at $5 million, falling from $10.5 million in the same quarter a year earlier.
Over the first nine months of the year, cumulative revenue totaled $621 million, with net profit reaching $14.3 million, down from $23.2 million in the prior-year period.
