BANNOCKBURN, IL -- North American PCB shipments in June fell 8.6% on a 90-day moving basis versus a year ago.
Shipments plunged 19.2% sequentially, according to the Global Electronics Association.
Year-to-date shipments are up 5.3% through June.
The book-to-bill ratio for the month was 1.06, up 30 basis points from May. The ratios are calculated by dividing the value of orders booked over the past three months by the value of sales billed during the same period from companies in the survey sample. A ratio of more than 1.0 a positive indicator for future sales growth.
PCB bookings in June were up 4.9 % compared to the same month last year and down 2.1% from May. YTD bookings are up 16.2%.
“June’s results reflect continued resilience in North American PCB production. The data signals stable demand and ongoing confidence in future output,” said Shawn DuBravac, Ph.D., chief economist, GEA. “While flex bookings softened slightly, strong rigid bookings helped sustain the sector’s positive momentum."
