WASHINGTON, DC – Worldwide semiconductor sales reached $208.4 billion in the third quarter, rising 15.8% from the previous quarter, according to the Semiconductor Industry Association (SIA). September sales alone totaled $69.5 billion, marking a 25.1% year-over-year increase and a 7.0% month-over-month gain.
The SIA attributed the performance to broad-based demand across semiconductor categories, particularly in memory and logic components. “Global chip sales continued to grow in the third quarter of this year, significantly outpacing sales from Q2,” said John Neuffer, SIA president and CEO. “Market growth was driven by increased demand across a range of semiconductor products, including memory and logic. And year-to-year growth was fueled by sales into the Asia Pacific region and the Americas.”
The results, compiled by the World Semiconductor Trade Statistics (WSTS) organization, reflect a three-month moving average and reinforce ongoing recovery momentum in the global semiconductor market.
