ATLANTA, GA – ECIA’s March Industry Pulse Survey showed electronic component sales sentiment reaching its highest level in five years, driven by strong confidence across all sectors.

The overall sales sentiment index rose to 149.2, with all three major component categories improving, led by electro-mechanical components, which saw the largest gain. End-market sentiment also strengthened, climbing to 161.8, with most sectors reporting improving conditions and minimal signs of decline.

Despite the strong March performance, sentiment is expected to moderate slightly in April, with the overall index projected to decline to 143.7. Industry participants remain broadly optimistic, with manufacturers’ representatives reporting the strongest outlook, while distributors expressed more conservative views.

At the same time, supply chain pressures are intensifying. The share of respondents reporting increasing lead times jumped to 61% in March, up from 34% in February, with semiconductors facing the most strain. Advanced memory supply constraints remain a key concern, as limited availability could impact broader component sales.
