WALTHAM, MAExtech Instruments has awarded two scholarships to local high school graduates.

The graduates were named outstanding students in the Waltham High School Vocational Electronics and Electrical programs.

This year’s recipients are Nicholas Benoit (electronics studies) and Peter Dennison (electrical studies).

Each student also received an Extech EX505 industrial multimeter and IR250 laser IR thermometer.

Extech provides handheld test and measurement tools worldwide.

PICKERING, UKContract Production Ltd. has acquired EMS firm Micro Forge Ltd. for an undisclosed sum.

Contract Production, a new company, reportedly has retained most of Micro Forge’s staff, and plans to hire an undisclosed number of new workers.

The firm will focus on low to medium-size production runs, and technical and prototype design assistance.

Contract Production’s first major contract is with Cirrus Research.
