STAFFORDSHIRE, UK -- EC Electronics has acquired UK-based Fastlink Data Cables, expanding its manufacturing capabilities in cable assemblies and strengthening its position in the data center, defense and aerospace markets.

Fastlink, founded in 1993 and based in Swindon, employs 54 peopl. The company specializes in cable assemblies and box-build solutions and will continue operating from its existing facility under its current name.

The acquisition expands EC Electronics' manufacturing portfolio, which includes PCB assembly, box-build, over-molding and potting services, while increasing manufacturing capacity and engineering resources across its UK and European operations.

The transaction is the latest in EC Electronics' acquisition strategy, following the purchases of Hunter Cables, Swan EMS, Liad Electronics and Gwent Electronic Materials. The company said the addition of Fastlink strengthens its ability to serve customers in high-growth markets driven by AI infrastructure, defense and aerospace demand.
