NEEDHAM, MA – Global smartphone shipments climbed 2.6% year-over-year to 322.7 million units in the third quarter, according to preliminary data from the International Data Corporation (IDC) Worldwide Quarterly Mobile Phone Tracker. The growth marks another step in the market’s steady recovery, driven by innovative device launches, flexible financing and consumers upgrading faster than expected.
SIKAINEN, FINLAND – Scanfil Oyj reported a strong third quarter with turnover reaching approximately $205 million, a 10% increase from the same period last year. Comparable EBITA rose to about $15 million, reflecting a 10% increase.
STOCKHOLM – Mycronic AB reported a strong third quarter with order intake reaching approximately $221 million, a 67% increase from the same period last year. Net sales declined 4% to roughly $156 million, while EBIT fell to about $23 million, reflecting a lower gross margin and a less favorable division mix.
