SAN JOSE – The president of Kyocera Solar will keynote an upcoming Microelectronics Packaging and Test Engineering Council symposium on the merger of solar and semiconductor technologies.
Steve Hill will present Creating New Markets: A Global Solar Outlook on Nov. 19 in San Jose.
Other sessions at Semiconductor to Solar: Growth Opportunities for the IC Industry include a photovoltaic industry overview and current trends; enabling technologies; manufacturing challenges and processing for solar photovoltaic, and future trends and opportunities for the IC industry.

HONG KONG – Flextronics International reportedly will hire more than 6,000 temporary workers in China this month as a result of rising demands.
The firm also plans to hire 1,000 more in time for Christmas, according to published reports.
Demand is said to be coming from every segment of the group.
