PLYMOUTH, WI -- Kurtz Ersa North America, a leading supplier of electronics production equipment, announced that it has hired a new field service engineer for the Rework, Inspection & Tools division. Effective immediately, Kris Smolarek supports Todd Dezwarte, Sales Manager – Rework, Inspection & Tools.
Europlacer announces the European launch of its newest pick & place machine, the iineo+ platform, positioned at the top of its product range. Based on the company’s industry-leading iineo machine, the new iineo+ platform includes an integrated component electrical tester, a new operating system, multi core processing and improved operator interface, as well as optional upgrades for enhanced traceability. The iineo+ platform will be unveiled on the Europlacer booth 4-251 at the SMT Hybrid Packaging event.

The graduate engineer (Master degree of Applied Science) succeeds Ray Bruce, who retired in 2017 after many years as a highly respected expert who was instrumental in the industry’s development. Josef Ernst, 47, has been with ASM SMT Solutions for over 20 years, the last seven of which kept him busy developing new DEK, SIPLACE and ASM products as head of ASM's global research & development. In his new function, Ernst plans to direct his company's global sales organization towards advanced digitization and the Smart #1 SMT Factory.
