Speedboard Assembly Services, a leading Contract Electronics Manufacturer (CEM), is pleased to announce the appointment of Andy Thwaites as Sales & Business Development Director and Kate Morris as Marketing Coordinator.
Andy has over 25 years of experience in sales, marketing and business development roles within high-tech electronics companies. He comments: “Within the UK electronics sector, Speedboard has an enviable and well-deserved reputation for professionalism, flexibility and responsiveness. Our business model is based on forming win-win collaborative partnerships as opposed to traditional transactional outsourcing arrangements. My priority for 2017 is to build on the successes of 2016 as Manufacturer of the Year in the Elektra awards and to form strategic partnerships with one or two new organisations where we can deliver sustainable manufacturing services to support their business both technically and commercially.”
With expert technical manufacturing background gained within the EMS community, Andy has held a number of senior roles within global and regional contract electronics organisations and brings a wealth of knowledge to complement the team of Directors at Speedboard.
Kate is a communications and marketing executive with considerable experience of delivering internal and external communications and marketing plans. Before joining Speedboard, Kate held management positions within a number of logistics companies.
Speedboard has enjoyed considerable growth during recent years, with the CEM’s turnover increasing by almost 50% over its two most recent financial years, and an increase of circa 10% expected for this year. “But we’re not resting on our laurels,” adds Andy. “We’re investing in people and equipment, plus we are expanding our shop floor space to dedicate more capacity to Final Assembly work.”
Neil Owen, Speedboard’s Managing Director, comments: “Andy and Kate each have proven track records in their specialist areas. Their knowledge and experience will be a valuable asset to our team at Speedboard and we are confident they will play a key role in further developing our business.”
