May 9, 2017 – Rolling Meadows, IL – Brent Fischthal, Senior Marketing Manager of Panasonic Factory Solutions Company of America, has been elected to the Board of Directors of the Manufacturing Enterprise Solutions Association International (MESA).

“I am excited to collaborate with like-minded visionaries on the evolution of enterprise systems. The results will surely manifest into innovative, mutually beneficial gains for MESA participants, their member community, and manufacturers at large”, said Mr. Fischthal. “This cooperative focus will drive business improvements and resolve critical issues using integrated information systems.”

Connectivity is a leading challenge in manufacturing. It spans machine to line to facility to enterprise to cloud-level environments. Within this vast space, there are increasing pressures to be scalable from small to large environments and integrated for any machine platform, business system or location. It must efficiently decrease material and labor costs while increasing overall utilization.

“Panasonic is uniquely positioned to further advance manufacturing connectivity. Beyond our award-winning PanaCIM Manufacturing Execution System (MES) software, we own thousands of IoT patents, which Panasonic is sharing via the OpenDOF Project (Open Distributed Object Framework),” commented Mr. Fischthal. “OpenDOF is a secure, flexible, and interoperable open-source software framework enabling the development of scalable and reliable network services based on connected objects. With our participation, we are actively encouraging other organizations to follow suit and foster collaboration, innovation, and interoperability,” concluded Mr. Fischthal.

Panasonic has a comprehensive technology portfolio supporting diverse markets in both B2B and B2C as both a manufacturer and a solutions provider. This reach, backed by incredible R&D, leading patent volume, broad customer base, and links to global research and universities provides a robust resource in alignment with the mission of MESA.
