This special event is the second annual, one-of-a-kind workshop/forum to bring forth the realities of ESD requirements in light of the rapidly advancing semiconductor technologies requiring higher speeds of operations while balanced with much improved worldwide ESD factory control at fabs and assembly areas. It is designed to be a two-day event to bring together key customers and IC quality managers to learn and exchange information about the current issues of ESD requirements and facilitate all to harmonize towards common goals for product cost savings.
The event will cover both adequate background and customer application needs. Discussions will focus on simulation and design of system-level (IEC61000-4-2) protection of the mobile phone antenna front end. The workshop will apply the system efficient ESD design (SEED) principles to the on-chip and on-board co-design and demonstrate how this approach can lead to optimized system-level ESD protection for the mobile phone antenna.
The workshop will address:
• Real ESD stress and ESD control methods
• System-level (IEC61000-4-2) testing, component level testing - proper techniques and testing procedures
• Demonstration of SEED co-design of ESD system-level protection for optimal ESD protection for RF antennas in electronic products
• Panel discussions: ESD target of ASIC and system ESD robustness
In the panel discussion the lead ESD experts and quality managers will lay out a target roadmap of ESD, useful for suppliers and customers in East Asia.
November 5, 2018
• Real ESD stress in the customer assemble/test product line, and ESD control methods
November 6, 2018
• ESD design target level for SEED and improvement method for system ESD
• Panel discussions- (1) Assembly and test and (2) System-Level designs, assembly, and antenna
The event is sponsored by JEITA, Industry Council on ESD Target Levels, and EOS/ESD Association, Inc. Co-sponsored by JEDEC.
