June 5, 2019 (Indianapolis, IN) – Specialty Coating Systems (SCS) is pleased to announce that it is holding a free half-day seminar “Parylene Coatings Provide Advanced Protection”. The seminar will be offered three times: October 14, 2019 in Pilsen, Czech Republic; October 16, 2019 in Dortmund, Germany; and October 17, 2019 in Weingarten, Germany.

The seminar will offer industry expertise on coating with the unique polymer Parylene. This interactive seminar will present multi-industry coating topics designed to address some of the most common surface modification challenges facing a range of industries. It also will introduce SCS’ new halogen-free variant, ParyFree®.

Attendees will learn about various aspects of Parylenes, including the following:
•    Moisture barrier properties
•    Thermal capabilities up to 450°C (short-term)
•    Resistance against almost all chemicals
•    Dielectric withstanding to 7,000 V at 25 microns
•    Waterproofing capabilities per IPX7, IPX8
•    Dry-film lubricity competing with PTFE
•    Biostability and biocompatibility for medical implants

Additionally, attendees will discover why Parylene is used in several industries and applications such as medical (coronary stents, pacemakers, electrosurgical tools, infusion systems and more), industrial electronics, avionics electronics, transportation electronics, MEMS and semiconductor fabrication devices and consumer electronics.
