Z-AXIS, an electronic design and contract manufacturing services provider near Rochester, NY, has hired tech industry veteran Chuck McFee as Sales Manager to lead the sales team and focus on business development.
Chuck brings more than 30 years of experience in technical sales, market development, marketing, and management for manufacturers of high-tech instrumentation and process control systems including Sydor Technologies, QED, Zygo, Honeywell/Measurex, and GE Power. He was most recently Vice President of Sales and Marketing at Sydor Technologies, where over five years he added sales staff, representatives, and territories to develop new markets and achieve record growth.
At QED Technologies International he managed global sales and marketing, expanding territories and reaching record revenue numbers. At Zygo Corporation, he developed the company’s Displays Solutions business from a new venture to its eventual spin-off. Prior to that, he was Director of Sales and Service with responsibilities including sales, applications, service training and technical publications. His early work at Zygo included the development of a precision machining team, expanding the business from optics to the industrial and automotive markets. At Honeywell he achieved continuous promotions in sales and marketing over thirteen years with the company’s Measurex Industrial Systems business.
Chuck has BS in mechanical engineering and holds one US patent. He is co-author of several contributions to the Review of Scientific Instruments, the Journal of Physics, and SPIE (The International Society for Optical Engineering) conferences.
