On March 13, 2021, John Gammer died peacefully, surrounded by family. Gammer was the proprietor of the JM Gammer Company in Georgia until he retired. He represented multiple electronics manufacturing principal businesses.

Gammer began his career with the US Army. After being honorably discharged, he worked with Western Electric as a technician for several years, and then enjoyed a long tenure with Electrovert as a national sales manager before beginning his own company.

His dedication to the industry and the focus on his career reflected his commitment to technology as well as his family and friends.

“John was a terrific guy and truly one of the pioneers in establishing rep businesses for the electronics assembly business in North America,” said Bob Black, former CEO of Juki Automation System, Inc.

Gammer was born in Elizabeth, NJ in 1938. He joined the US Army after graduating from high school and while attending Fairleigh Dickenson University. While serving, he played a key role in setting up the Alaskan frontier’s communications and telephone systems. In his retirement, he was active in his church and community. He volunteered at a local hospital as well as Habitat for Humanity.

Gammer was 82 years old.
