UTICA, NY -- Eleven employees of Indium Corp. recently achieved Dartmouth Six-Sigma Green Belt Certification.
A Dartmouth Six Sigma Green Belt has demonstrated proficiency in developing and executing design experiments to support continuous process improvement at a competent level.
Those who achieved the certification include: Stephen Foster, Mike McNamara, Bob Jarrett, Nicole Palma, Runsheng Mao, Stephen Smith, Hong-Sik Hwang, Ed Gudlauski, Leroy Page, Anthony Piccione and Dave Sbiroli.
Dr. Ron Lasky, senior technologist at Indium and visiting professor at Dartmouth College’s Thayer School of Engineering, conducted training for the certification.

ATLANTA -- Friday is the final day to register for Circuits Assembly’s Service Excellence Awards for electronics manufacturing services providers and electronics assembly suppliers. The program, now in its 14th year, is a way for participants to see how they compare to peers in customer satisfaction.
Entrants with the highest ratings will be honored at an awards ceremony held at Apex 2007. Winners will be also featured in a Circuits Assembly article and receive an award commemorating their achievement.

SANTA CLARA, CA -- Embattled ex Hewlett-Packard chairman Patricia Dunn now has another badge of dishonor: accused felon.
Dunn appeared in a Santa Clara, CA, courtroom Thursday afternoon to sign a promise to show for her Nov. 17 arraignment. She made no comments, but may have tipped her defense during an interview with 60 Minutes, to be broadcast Sunday.

ST. LOUIS -- EMS provider LaBarge Inc. landed $15 million in follow-on
orders from Eclipse Aviation Corp. for wiring
harnesses for the Eclipse 500 jet.
The program comes on the tail of $10 million in initial orders under a multiyear agreement with Eclipse announced in April 2006.

TORONTO -- Electronics manufacturing services firm Celestica Inc. has sold its Vimercate, Italy, operations to Bartolini Progetti, to whom Celestica will provide EMS,
after-market, new product introduction and support services on a subcontract
basis. No financial terms were announced.
The plant's 850 employees will be transfered to Bartolini, an Italian logistics and after-market services provider.
