HERNDON, VA – The International Electronics Manufacturing Initiative and Intel this fall will hold a symposium on global ICT environmental initiatives. 

The meeting is scheduled for Oct. 27-28 in Brussels.

The symposium will address low-halogen electronics, defined as the reduction or elimination of BFRs, CFRs and PVC from electronics products. Discussions will include the impact these changes will have on the electronics manufacturing supply chain. 

The agenda will also cover such topics as the Pb-free transition, lifecycle assessment for ICT equipment, and carbon footprints.
