VANCOUVERCreation Technologies, a top 50 EMS provider, plans to acquire Taytronics Inc. of St. Peter, MN. The acquisition will provide Creation with a second facility in the central U.S. and is expected to be finalized July 29. Other financial details were not disclosed.

Taytronics, which will be operated by Creation Technologies Minnesota Inc., will become the eighth Creation business unit providing medium-volume, high-mix assemblies to OEMs.

Creation’s other units are based in Vancouver, Burnaby, San Jose, Dallas, Milwaukee, Toronto and Mississauga.

Taytronics has been providing EMS services for medical, military, communications and industrial control products since 1990. It employs 125 people and expects 2007 revenues of approximately $12 million.

Privately held Creation has estimated sales of $300 million and employs 1,450 workers. Last week it announced a $65 million investment from Birch Hill Equity Partners, for use toward acquisitions.
