SoftHand is an anatomically shaped hand for collaborating robots.
Has 19 dislocatable, self-healing finger joints; reportedly replaces individual grippers. Is for complex handling tasks. Research variant offers open interfaces. Is available in different colors and equipped with stiff wrist. Software interfaces including Matlab-Simulink and high-level C interface are available. Between thumb and finger, SoftHand holds objects weighing up to 600g. Max. grip weight is 2kg. Wrist is rotatable. Gloves are replaceable. Protection class IP65 makes it possible to use it in damp, dusty or other environments. Is for highly sensitive robots, such as the Panda, which has force sensors in all seven joints. Can grip parts with complex geometries; can shake electromechanical or large electronic components into place in electronics production.
