NEENAH, WI -- Top 10 EMS firm Plexus Corp. today forecast fiscal second-quarter profit near the high end of previous guidance due to a lower-than-expected tax rate and lower fixed cuts. The company also announced it expects restructuring charges of $2.3 million during the quarter, above prior guidance of $500,000.
The higher restructuring charges are tied to the cost to close its plant in Ayer, MA.
Plexus also said it has written-off the entire carrying value of its goodwill -- which was $5.7 million at the end of December.
The company previously guided for second quarter sales of $375 million to $405 million.
