TAIPEI -- Hon Hai Precision Industry (Foxconn) reported first-quarter net sales fell 7.9% year-over-year to NT$277.9 billion ($8.2 billion).
The world's largest ODM/EMS company said net income dropped 17% to NT$13.3 billion ($395 million) for the three months ended March 31.The company claimed strong market share gains, and said it would continue efforts to expand its mechanical, optical and electrical integration.
In a statement, spokesman Edmund C.A. Ding said, ""Despite the general uncertainty and a so-called challenging environment, under the backdrop of an increase weighting in company’s consumer electronics business, the quarterly unconsolidated results were as expected and remain seasonal."
